Hey!
Hope you are doing well.
I've recently started a new Japanese environment piece mainly concentrating on utilising trimsheets and tileable materials as I feel like my portfolio lacked on this department. I also wanted to have a hero asset to tie the piece together. I looked at my hard drive and saw my old buddha work when I was a student and decided to make a buddha again to see how I progressed through the years.
Putting them beside each other, I have definitely noticed that I have improved on my sculpting skills and completed the high-poly faster. But what surprised me the most, was how I approached the asset in a methodical procedure. My thought process. Experience through the years of sculpting various assets.
I want to share this post for anyone who is currently suffering from the feeling of "not progressing" as I also experience it. One day, when I get that feeling again, I will refer to this post and if this post helps you in some ways, then I'm glad.
You are definitely progressing and you just have to keep working and polishing your craft.
Have a good day!
